The start of the new season is coming - be prepared

CAHA Members

The 2016-17 season is just around the corner.  CAHA has been working to set up the new season on the CAHA website.  The layout has changed a bit so please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the new layout of the scoring system.

In order for your association to be able to have access to your teams/pages you must first complete the annual CAHA filings and send them to Shawn Tanaka (new Secretary for CAHA) at seatanaka@yahoo.com and then send me (itshoweplay@gmail.com) a request for permissions including your NGIN sign-in ID and the divisions/teams you wish to have rights to (please indicate owner/editor/scorer level).

Thank you

Todd Harvey

Hockey season is here once again and kids throughout the state of Colorado are gearing up for more fun and excitement on the ice.  The Denver North Hockey League (DNHL) is approaching it's fifteenth year of existence and has been providing just that for hundreds of young hockey enthusiasts in northern Colorado.

In 2001 Arvada Hockey Director John Mckibbon and Hyland Hills Hockey Director Tyson Davis collaborated to form the DNHL to provide more opportunities for kids to just play hockey.  The idea was to create a recreational hockey league that encouraged kids to play and enjoy the sport, but not have to worry about the rigors and commitments that may come with playing at higher, more competitive levels.  Some kids may have started playing later in life, for others it may be a second sport that they just love to play.  Whatever the reason, the DNHL allows for kids to truly play for the love of the game.

The puck has dropped on yet another season. Hockey fans rejoice, as the sweaters are being pulled over heads and skates are sharpened.   While the DNHL prepares for another great season, it allows a chance to reflect and realize that working together as a hockey community gives us the ability to grow the game.  Hockey has thrived in Colorado for decades now, and by focusing our efforts on promoting what's established and finding new ways to educate and expand the sport we all love, it can continue to thrive in Colorado.

Arvada Squirt 1 Golden against Lady RoughRiders U10

The DNHL Arvada Squirt 1 Gold came out firing and used a three goal first period to help catapult themselves to a 6-0 win over the Lady RoughRiders U10 team on October 18th at The Apex Center Ice Arena in Denver.

In front of a capacity crowd of spirited supporters for both teams, the Lady RoughRiders played a hard fought game but couldn't muster up enough offense to keep it close.  Arvada used six different goal scorers and league points leader Ryan Koch netted a goal and added an assist to help lead his squad to victory.

Hyland Hills Pee Wee Orange Dazzles in Win.

Hyland Hills Pee Wee Orange used a five goal second period and eight different goal scorers to prevail 9-1 over the Arvada Pee Wee 2 Black on October 18th at Apex.

The Jaguars Tyler Evans opened the scoring with a goal in the first and then decided to get his teammates involved by dishing out an unbelievable six assists to finish the game with seven points.

Arvada's Bodie Wolfschlag scored late in the first to tie it at 1-1, but that's as close as they would get as Donovan Gavito scored fifteen seconds later to put the Jags up for good.  Gavito and Lee Dacko both had a goal and an assist and Jaden Tomalin scored two goals to lead Hyland Hills to a convincing victory.
