SAFESPORT POLICY

HPHL is committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all athletes, free from bullying, hazing, sexual misconduct, and any form of emotional abuse. Our league implements youth protection safeguards and fosters an atmosphere where all personnel, players, and members feel empowered to speak up without fear.

  • Training Requirement: All coaches, managers, club coordinators, and players born in 2008 or earlier must complete SafeSport Training before being rostered on a team.
  • To satisfy the rostering requirement, participants must complete the “Required Core Training” course. The “Youth Athlete Courses” do not meet this requirement.

SafeSport training is available through the USA Hockey website:

Report an Incident

To report a SafeSport incident, use the link below and follow the USA Hockey form provided to gather the necessary information.

Most SafeSport violations should be addressed at the association level, with a final report copy sent to the HPHL and CAHA SafeSport Coordinators to maintain a record of the behavior in case of repeat incidents.

3 Ways to Report Suspected Abuse:

  • CALL: 800-888-4656
  • EMAIL: SafeSport@usahockey.org
  • CLICK: “Report to USA Hockey”

Any SafeSport violations involving abuse or illegal activities must be reported immediately to law enforcement. The alleged offender must be suspended from all association activities and contact with players. Additionally, provide a report to the HPHL and CAHA SafeSport Coordinators, as well as USA Hockey, without delay.
